About Us...

BCRF is a non-profit, State and Federal 501 (c)(3) approved organization.Background

  • Patients suffering from bone cancers do not have adequate support or education.
  • Research in bone tumors needs a boost in the funding to help understand the cause of these tumors, improve treatments and outcomes.
  • Health care workers (doctors, nurses, etc.) who are interested in managing such patients would benefit if they visit renowned centers specializing in bone tumors.

From these needs, the Bone Cancer Research Foundation was formed, and has taken on these three areas as its goals to fulfill.

Our Mission

  • Aid research in understanding the disease, discovering effective diagnostic methods and improved management of the disease, as well as finding a cure.
  • Promote training of interested health care professionals to better treat those afflicted with bone cancer.
  • Develop a program for patient education and support.
  • Raise public awareness of this insidious form of cancer which disintegrates the bone, along with the patient’s quality of life.

Our Goals...

Present

The mission of this foundation is to support research, education and patient support by raising funds through various mechanisms including donations from the public. At these early stages, various components are being developed. These include the strategy, awareness (including the current web site), recruiting a panel of scientific and community advisory members, fund raisers and planning the disbursement of funds.

Planned

Our immediate goals are to raise funds which will be disbursed for research, training and patient education. Our midterm goals are to continue raising funds through various methods to increase the size of BCRF to become a national organization. Finally, a dedicated building for the foundation which is recognized nationally and internationally for its quality research and dedication to bone diseases is our long term goal.
